ACRI Receives Award from the Israeli Employment Service

In a small and moving ceremony this morning (27 February 2012), Mr. Yossi Farchi – the retiring Head of the Israeli Employment Service – gave the Association for Civil Rights in Israel (ACRI) the 2012 certificate of appreciation on behalf of the Employment Service.

The certificate was awarded to ACRI “for providing unwavering support to employment seekers in Israel and for aiding the Employment Service in realizing this goal throughout the years.” Mr. Farchi mentioned the struggle against the Wisconsin Plan and noted the important role that human rights organizations – such as ACRI, Rabbis for Human Rights, Commitment for Peace and Social Justice, and the Mizrahi Democratic Rainbow – had in ending this program.
