Dear friends,
When I first went to a Gaga lesson I didn’t know what to expect, and I wondered whether I would like it. I quickly discovered that it is a wonderful and energizing experience. Every person, no matter their age, can take part in what is essentially exercise for the body and food for the soul. Ohad Naharin, Mister Gaga, who invented this language of movement asks us all to move, lightly and in our own pace. It really is a dance for human rights.
In three weeks time, on 1 March 2016 you will have an opportunity to take part in this unforgettable experience. Ohad Naharin, Gaga teachers and the Batsheva Dance Company are donating their time for the third year in a row towards an evening for human rights, when all profits are donated to ACRI. Not only is this an exceptional donation, but it is a moving experience and an honor for ACRI. To dance Gaga at Hangar 11 with hundreds of other people awakens our senses. The music, Ohad’s direction, the warmth of the people who attend and a chance to move our bodies in new ways all makes this event truly special.
Apparently I’m not the only person who thinks so. After the Gaga event last year we received moving feedback from the people who attended. People spoke about how much they enjoyed the evening, and some said it was a spiritual experience for them. We danced together, including children and older people, and everyone loved Gaga. I know that if you will join us you will not be disappointed.
And if I haven’t convinced you yet, all of the money raised will be donated to ACRI. These donations will enable us to promote human rights in Israel, which as you know is not easy – especially these days. So save the date, buy tickets and bring along your friends. Because Gaga is for all of us – and for human rights.
