Tamer-Nfar-By-Mike-HortonOn 17 October 2016, ACRI called on the Mayor of Haifa to ensure that rap artist Tamer Nafar would perform in Haifa, despite the Minister of Culture’s request that his show be cancelled and despite the threat of right-wing activists to blow up the show. In the petition Attorney Dan Yakir, ACRI’s Chief Legal Adviser, warned that the cancellation of the show would not only harm the freedom of artistic and political expression and be a surrender to violence, but would also a fatal blow to the model promoted by the Municipality of Haifa regarding Jewish-Arab relations in the city.
