In November 2009, ahead of a conference in the Knesset aiming to delegitimize the work of Israeli human rights and social NGOs, ACRI and partner NGOs sent an explanatory intervention to MKs Michael Eitan and Zeev Elkin, who sponsored the conference. In the letter, the heads of NGOs explained that while the conference was taking place under the headline of “transparency”, a very clear anti-democratic and anti-human rights agenda was in fact the focus of the event.
