{"id":9855,"date":"2016-02-21T11:03:07","date_gmt":"2016-02-21T09:03:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/law.acri.org.il\/en\/?p=9855"},"modified":"2016-07-31T10:48:35","modified_gmt":"2016-07-31T08:48:35","slug":"prohibited-childhood","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/law.acri.org.il\/en\/2016\/02\/21\/prohibited-childhood\/","title":{"rendered":"Arrested Childhood"},"content":{"rendered":"<div title=\"Page 1\">\n<p><em>The Ramifications of Israel\u2019s New Strict Policy toward Minors Suspected of Involvement in Stone Throwing, Security Offenses, and Disturbances\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<div title=\"Page 4\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<p>A series of legislative changes and guidelines indicate that the central \u2013 and perhaps even the sole \u2013 consideration that authorities take into account when dealing with minors involved in these incidents is deterrence, and not their rehabilitation and return to normative conduct.<\/p>\n<p>This alarming trend is contrary to the principles of the Convention on the Rights of the Child and erodes the provisions and principles of the Youth Law.
