{"id":779,"date":"2010-10-05T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2010-10-05T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"779"},"modified":"2011-02-13T15:39:16","modified_gmt":"2011-02-13T15:39:16","slug":"knesset-speaker-rivlin-mks-attach-brand-of-apartheid","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/law.acri.org.il\/en\/2010\/10\/05\/knesset-speaker-rivlin-mks-attach-brand-of-apartheid\/","title":{"rendered":"Knesset Speaker Rivlin: MKs Attach Brand of Apartheid"},"content":{"rendered":"<div lcass='pre'><\/div>\n<p>The following is a translation of an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.haaretz.co.il\/hasite\/spages\/1182847.html\">article<\/a> which appeared on Haaretz&#8217;s Web site on August 3, 2010:<\/p>\n<p>Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin: There are Members of Knesset who attach a brand of Apartheid State to Israel<\/p>\n<p>By Jonathan Liss<\/p>\n<p>Knesset Speaker said to Foreign Ministry cadets that these trends in the Knesset must be exterminated completely, \u201cnot on behalf of specific minorities but on behalf of the State of Israel.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Knesset Speaker: The public as well are attaching a global image of Israel as an Apartheid State.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Knesset Speaker added that these MKs, \u201ccreate an inappropriate discourse between Jews and Arabs in the Knesset, that also has consequences for the existing conflict in Israeli society.\u201d He emphasized that we must exterminate these trends from the Knesset, \u201cnot on behalf of specific minorities but on behalf of the State of Israel.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rivlin continued saying, \u201cwhen typical advocates for peace are discussing an agreement and this evening about the \u201cdemographic threat,\u201d they create the impression that anyone who is not Jewish is a threat, and thus deepening the conflict between Jewish and Arabs.
