{"id":2957,"date":"2011-08-02T15:05:36","date_gmt":"2011-08-02T13:05:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/law.acri.org.il\/en\/?p=2957"},"modified":"2012-06-25T10:03:39","modified_gmt":"2012-06-25T08:03:39","slug":"demonstrators-know-your-rights-july-2011","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/law.acri.org.il\/en\/2011\/08\/02\/demonstrators-know-your-rights-july-2011\/","title":{"rendered":"Demonstrators, Know Your Rights (July 2011)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Following <a href=\"https:\/\/law.acri.org.il\/en\/?p=2931\">recent efforts<\/a> by the police and authorities to suppress some of the &#8220;tent protests&#8221; in ways that harm the rights of demonstrators to freedom of expression and freedom of protest, the Association for Civil Rights in Israel (ACRI) has produced <a href=\"https:\/\/law.acri.org.il\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/ACRI-Rights-of-Demonstrators-July2011-ENG.pdf\">a pamphlet on rights of demonstrators<\/a> (PDF).<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nThe pamphlet includes answers to questions such as: <strong> Is it legal to set up a protest encampment? Is a permit required to set up an encampment? When does a demonstration require a permit? I was arrested. What are my rights?<\/strong> And so on.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nThe pamphlets are being widely distributed in various protest encampments across Israel and through social networks. Below is the English translation.
