Dear friends,<\/p>\n

This evening, we were shocked to learn from a press release that Education Minister Naftali Bennett is\u00a0calling for the cancellation of our conference planned for\u00a0tomorrow<\/span><\/span>,\u00a0on the issue of workers’ rights in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and the Center for Educational Technology.\u00a0<\/p>\n

We have clearly reached a new low. The man responsible for the education of all of Israel’s children is working with Im Tirtzu, a movement whose sole purpose is to undermine Israeli\u00a0democracy.<\/p>\n

We turned to the Attorney General and requested that he immediately instruct Bennett not to intervene and not to forbid employees connected to his office from participating in the conference. Just two months ago, the Attorney General stated the importance of a dialogue between the civil society organizations and the State authorities, which includes the participation of senior public officials in conferences and events like the one scheduled for\u00a0tomorrow<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Neither the Education Minister nor Im Tirtzu will deter us from continuing to defend human rights. We won’t back down.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/span>Today, more than ever, as the government attempts to silence us,\u00a0we need your partnership to defend and strengthen Israeli democracy<\/a>.
