Dear Friends,<\/p>\n

As I write to you\u00a0today, we are still digesting the results\u00a0of the United States elections, the outcome of which illuminates the dire need for a stronger human rights discourse and\u00a0a\u00a0more united global effort against racism, sexism, and economic injustice.<\/p>\n

Here at home\u00a0in Israel, we\u00a0too\u00a0can\u00a0do more.\u00a0Since\u00a0ACRI’s\u00a0founding, and\u00a0with your generous support,\u00a0we have expanded\u00a0the scope and reach of our work, setting legal precedents that\u00a0protect\u00a0human rights in Israel and in the occupied Palestinian territories.<\/p>\n

Earlier\u00a0this week\u00a0in the United Kingdom,\u00a0I had the privilege of\u00a0representing ACRI in receiving a Human Rights Award\u00a0from our partners at the New Israel Fund.\u00a0Each year, this\u00a0award\u00a0is presented\u00a0to organizations that work daily to create a more just society\u00a0to\u00a0strengthen our Israeli democracy.<\/p>\n

I\u00a0was very moved by the hundreds UK-based human rights advocates who came out to show\u00a0their\u00a0support. In my address I shared\u00a0how ACRI\u00a0was able to successfully open four new “well-baby clinics” for new mothers and their newborns\u00a0in\u00a0East Jerusalem,\u00a0with the promise of opening two more in the coming year. Successes such as these\u00a0will\u00a0radically change the daily reality for marginalized communities for years to come.\u00a0Please click here<\/a> to see the exciting new video clip screened at the event.<\/p>\n

ACRI was\u00a0chosen alongside\u00a0Mahapach\u00a0Taghir, a grassroots social change organization that works to strengthen democracy through empowerment in education, and\u00a0Zazim, a campaigning community for social and political change.<\/p>\n

We\u00a0know that\u00a0the\u00a0struggle\u00a0continues, and\u00a0the\u00a0daily reality in Israel\u00a0and around the world reminds\u00a0us\u00a0of\u00a0the courage and\u00a0resolve\u00a0we need to succeed.\u00a0Help us continue to fight for a brighter future,<\/a>\u00a0upholding\u00a0human rights as a central pillar of\u00a0Israeli democracy.<\/p>\n
